Mid-day meal

This beautiful support for students, Midday-Meal, goes back to the private initiative of the director and teachers of the government school in Penukonda. They were aware that many of their students weren’t able to eat at lunchtime. From around 800 kids, at least 1/3 of the families were having financial difficulties which prevented the students from affording lunch.  The school staff came from their hearts to find a way to help the children in need have a midday meal.

They collected money amongst themselves, and received support from the village people, but money was always too sparce to provide enough assistance. In 2015 they approached the ashram, who helped out with the missing INR 25.000.  Since 2016, the ashram, through the Shirdi Sai Global Trust (SSGT), provides all the financial support for those midday-meals.  An average 1,5 Lakhs INR are dedicated to this charitable activity each year.
